Sammy Bananas “My Body” (Last Word Moombahton Edit)

If you are from the Twin Cities and like to dance, there is a good chance you have heard of/attended Get Cryphy. If not, Get Cryphy* is a dance party featuring the DJ lineup of: Plain Ole Bill (P.O.S.’s Tour DJ), DJ Fundo (Prof’s DJ), Last Word, and Jimmy 2 Times. Last Word, lucky for us, has recorded some of his mixups/mashups and made them available online… FO’ FREE. The first I ever heard from him was the “Somewhere Between Fast Food and Vegan” tape, which featured a Big Zach remix of the John Mayer song, “Waitin’ on the World To Change” (see below). Here is a link to the download for the second volume of that, in which he flips the script and makes a mixtape in reverse.

Last Word’s newest release, following the summer tape “The Showtime EP”, is titled Jump On It. Keep reading to hear what he has to say about it:

It’s been a minute ya’ll. The SHOWTIME EP I dropped this summer was just the warm up. On November 8th I’ll be putting out my new EP “Jump On It”. Filled with Moombahton and Dancehall bangers to get the party moving. To celebrate the release I figured I’d give out a unreleased track. Who doesn’t like FREE shit right? I’ll keep the announcement short, and sweet, and we’ll have more info for you in the coming weeks. ENJOY! -DJ Last Word

*The next Get Cryphy event will be: Friday, Nov. 4th :: 10PM :: First Ave Record Room :: $5 :: 18+

About bescenempls

If you can, try and picture a place where there are no “dislike” buttons or negative Facebook comments; a spot where props are given where props are deserved. This is our inspiration for the “Be Scene” blog. Our intention is to spread love to the people doing big things, regardless of their affiliation to No Static Records. Be Scene will be updated (almost daily) with music that we think is worth listening to, from local to worldwide levels. It is not genre-bound and will showcase funkadelic features produced by all sorts of artists, from A(l Green) to Z(Z Top). Actually, there will be no ZZ Top but you get the point. So if you like tunes as fresh as the baby powder on Katt Williams' hand, we urge you to favorite this page.
